The Stoic way is common sense, accepting reality, steering clear of mere perception, and focusing on what you can control.
It reminds us that death is part of Nature's way, and shouldn't be feared or dreaded, but embraced.
It helps us live every day...not being surprised or alarmed by anything that happens, and taking things in stride.
I'll have many Stoic nuggets of wisdom, from such sources as Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius...I'll also employ other sources of wisdom, including Eastern sources and other philosophical descendants of Socrates.
Here's one to start...at the beginnng of the new year:
"Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now take what's left and live it properly."--Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 7.56
